TRAIN4LAW

Train4Law are delighted to announce that local solicitor Cath Lomax has joined them and is lecturing on the ILEX Level 3 course and providing bespoke in house training .

Cath Lomax took an unconventional route in to law starting in 1992 when , whilst working full time in retail she began to studying part time for a Law Degree at the (now) Universty of Central Lancashire. Upon completion of her degree, she then continued with her part time study at UCLAN and obtained her post graduate Certificate in Legal Practice. Cath qualified as a solicitor and was admitted to the roll in March 1998.

Cath completed her training contract with Inghams in Blackpool where she was an Associate before moving firms to Southport and eventually settling at Scott Rees in Skelmersdale. In addition to being an Associate, and running her own civil litigation case load, Cath acted as mentor and trainer to more junior members of staff and it is this together with her considerable legal experience (over 12 years in practice), that has given her the desire to pass her knowledge and skills on to others and help them move towards a fulfilling life in the legal profession.

In addition to being a qualified solicitor, Cath has recently completed PTTLS teaching qualification to assist in her knowledge and understanding of how people learn so as to give her a deeper understanding of student needs and learning methods.
